DA Bray Talks Online Safety with Boaz Students
Marshall County District Attorney Jennifer Bray spoke to students at Boaz Middle School and Boaz High School today about the real-world dangers and responsibilities that come with cell phone use.
We appreciate both schools for inviting us and for encouraging parents to be part of the conversation. Protecting our students starts with awareness, communication, and education. We’re also grateful to the Boaz Police Department for their continued partnership in keeping our students safe.
“We must remember that we’ve given our children devices and social media that allow millions of strangers direct access to them. It’s our responsibility as parents to ensure we’re protecting them from online predators by enacting safeguards on the technology, talking to them about the real dangers, and actively monitoring the activity on their devices. I enjoyed the opportunity today to speak directly to the students about the dangers that lurk behind the dark corners of technology and sharing tips on how to better protect themselves. My prayer is that at least one thing I said resonated with each one of them.”
