Stronger Together: Our Work with Covenant Rescue Group

Covenant Rescue Group (CRG), founded in 2019 by former U.S. Navy SEAL Jared Hudson and his wife, is a nonprofit dedicated to fighting human trafficking and child exploitation. Their mission is to bring hope and freedom to victims through rescues, strong prosecutions, officer training, and public advocacy. Since 2021, CRG has supported more than 200 arrests, 50 rescues, and trained over 600 law enforcement officers worldwide. In early 2025, their work in Alabama—including here in Marshall County—led to 26 arrests for crimes such as trafficking and child solicitation, along with multiple S.T.O.P. (Stop Trafficking Operations Program) trainings for over 100 officers. The Marshall County District Attorney’s Office partners with CRG through joint undercover operations, officer training, and community events, combining enforcement, victim support, and public awareness to protect our most vulnerable. Drug Awareness & Prevention

The fight against illegal drugs and opioid abuse is one of the most pressing challenges facing Marshall County. Substance abuse destroys families, fuels crime, and places enormous strain on our healthcare and criminal justice systems.

Agents with the Marshall County Drug Task Force and Arab Police Department officers recovered approximately 3 pounds of meth while executing a search warrant in 2023

The District Attorney’s Office partners with the Marshall County Drug Task Force, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) to combat drug trafficking and reduce the impact of narcotics in our communities. In early 2024, the Task Force seized more than five pounds of methamphetamine and made high-profile arrests of individuals transporting large quantities of illegal drugs. Their work also played a key role in dismantling a cartel-linked trafficking ring in our region, leading to multiple trials and convictions in 2025.

Through these partnerships, traffickers are being brought to justice and Marshall County families are safer. Every citizen has a role to play—by supporting prevention efforts, talking openly about the risks of addiction, and safely disposing of unused prescription medications, together we can build a healthier and stronger community.

In addition to fighting illegal drugs, the District Attorney’s Office is also addressing the rise in youth vaping. Students caught with vapes at school now face real consequences along with education designed to prevent future use. Click here to learn more about how Marshall County is tackling underage vaping.

Scam Prevention

Criminals use a variety of scams to steal money, property, or personal information. Common schemes include fake lottery or sweepstakes winnings, “grandparent” phone calls claiming a loved one is in trouble, government impersonation scams, and online identity theft. These crimes cost victims billions of dollars each year—and they are happening right here in Alabama.

Protecting citizens is a priority for the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office. We work with law enforcement and financial institutions to stop fraud, hold offenders accountable, and raise awareness. One way we do this is by sharing scam alerts and prevention tips through our social media. Follow us on Facebook for updates: facebook.com/JenniferBrayforDA.

Remember: if an offer sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Never share personal or banking information over the phone, and always verify before sending money.

Example of a Real Scam Alert:

A text message scam is circulating that claims you have an unpaid traffic violation. The message pretends to come from ALDOT and uses urgent language to pressure you into clicking a link and paying right away. Do not click the link. Scammers can steal your credit card information or install malware on your phone, and once you interact with these messages, they are more likely to keep targeting you. Always delete scam texts immediately and never provide personal or financial information through suspicious links. Stay alert and protect yourself, Marshall County.
