First Place for a Great Cause

We are proud to share that Marshall County finished FIRST in last week’s friendly statewide blood drive competition among District Attorneys’ Offices! We teamed up with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office in order to honor crime victims during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

In just 5.5 hours, we collected 49 donations. We are incredibly grateful to our employees, law enforcement partners, and community members who stepped up to support this initiative and honor crime victims in such a meaningful way.

Kudos as well to Marion County with 47 donations and St. Clair County with 43. It was an outstanding showing across the state!

These statewide blood drives, championed by Alabama District Attorneys Association President and St. Clair County District Attorney Lyle Harmon, were a tremendous success for LifeSouth. Across 21 drives, 469 donations were collected. That is enough to help more than 1,000 patients in Alabama hospitals. That kind of impact speaks volumes about what can be accomplished when communities come together.

A special thank you to our own Victim Services Officer, Beverly Dobbins Bozarth, and HFI Director, Dori Giles, for all your hard work helping make this event such a success.

Marshall County showed up just like we knew it would! We’re already looking forward to making next year’s drive even bigger and better. We are grateful to all who helped honor victims and save lives.
